Welcome to curry&sweets Dolce, a delightful café nestled in the charming Minatomachi area of Moji Ward, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka. This hidden gem offers a unique blend of traditional Japanese curry and sweets, making it a must-visit for both locals and travelers alike.

The café specializes in baked curry, a dish that beautifully marries rich flavors and fresh ingredients. As described by visitors, the Vegetable Baked Curry is particularly noteworthy; Helena Kwong calls it “highly recommended” for its generous portions and vibrant, juicy vegetables that maintain their freshness even after baking. The curry is crafted in the traditional Japanese style, lightly baked to perfection, resulting in a dish that is indulgent yet balanced—an ideal choice for those seeking comfort food.

In addition to the popular baked curry, patrons can indulge in the classic Monjiko baked curry rice, which is famed for its rich flavor enhanced by cheese and egg. Each bite promises a warm embrace of taste, making it a delightful meal to cherish and share. The inviting aroma of the curry wafts through the air, immediately making your mouth water as you settle into the cozy ambiance of the café.

The atmosphere at curry&sweets Dolce is equally appealing. It is described as cozy and relaxing—perfect for a midday respite or a leisurely lunch. Customers can appreciate not only the food but also the thoughtfully designed interiors which include views of the picturesque Monjiko harbor, creating an experience that delights all senses. This environment is complemented by the warm hospitality of the staff, who are known for their welcoming attitude, ensuring you feel right at home.

Moreover, the café is praised for its accommodating menu, which offers options that cater to those who prefer meat-free dishes. As noted by customer Silk, the absence of pork in their baked curries makes it a favorable choice for Muslim diners. This kind of thoughtful consideration enhances the café's appeal to a diverse clientele.

Whether you stumble upon curry&sweets Dolce by chance—like Oil Chou did, escaping long lines at nearby eateries—or come specifically for its famed yaki curry and grilled options, you’re sure to leave satisfied. With a constant flow of customers and a welcoming vibe, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and indulge.

So, if you find yourself in Kitakyushu, don’t miss the chance to explore curry&sweets Dolce. Treat yourself to some of the best baked curry in town, and experience a slice of comfort in a café that truly cares about its patrons.

Vegetable Baked Curry — Highly Recommended! The portion is generous, and the vegetables are incredibly fresh — even after baking, they remain juicy and flavorful. The curry is based on traditional Japanese style, lightly baked to perfection. It’s a rich and juicy dish, but perfectly balanced without being overwhelming. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing — an ideal spot for a midday break. If you're visiting Mojiko, this place is a definite must-try!

Picked this restaurant by chance. We planned to go to the other 2 restaurants but one had lunch break and another with long queue. As yaki curry/ grilled curry with rice is famous here, this place should not go wrong and reviews are pretty nice. Good thing about here is 1) not very crowded but flow of customers is constant 2) not closing during late lunch time (some close between 14:30-17:30 hrs) • Atmosphere: very homey with nice music in background • Service: all good. Free water jar was served on table. • Menu: set menu - curry and cake and drinks available but we just chose individual meal. • Curry: no options for spice levels. Curry is very thick, flavorful and tasty. Full of spices but not spicy and burn your tongue. • Yakikare/ original grilled curry comes with rice & egg and grilled cheese on top. • With beef burger - both original and this are yummy. • For kids & vegetarian - I saw options available. • I overheard Japanese young girl said the meal was yummy after she finished it. I guess that is a good review somehow. I have never tried grilled curry before but I think this place is not bad at all. I didn’t have much time to spend waiting in the queue for other popular curry shops. If you are on the same boat, just try this :)
